Farewell to Michael and Debbie
Our Vicar, Canon Michael Harley has now taken up his new role
as Archdeacon of Winchester, and Priest in Charge of St.
Faith, Winchester and Master of St. Cross Hospital, Winchester.
We have all benefited greatly from his ministry here, and
wish Michael and Debbie every blessing in their new roles.
Holiday Club 2009
This year there will be a holiday club at St. Boniface Church
from Weds. 29th July until Friday 31st July, with the
children then participating in the service at 10.00am
on Sunday 2nd August. Please contact the Parish Office
to book a place (023 8026 5977).
Just10
Living in the 21st century has many challenges and not many
answers. Over ten weeks in Winchester Cathedral, Canon
J.John will be looking at the 10 Commandments and helping
us apply them to daily life. Rather than being an irrelevant
set of rules J.John will present the commandments as an
essential guide to modern life. All Just10 evenings are
on Wednesdays from 7.30pm-9.00pm from the 22nd April until
the 24th June.
See the website: www.just10winch.org.uk/index.php
for details.
Traidcraft stalls at St Boniface and St Martin in the Wood
There are regular Traidcraft stalls
at both churches. It would be wonderful if, as in previous
years, the stalls could be well supported. Remember, supporting
Traidcraft means that you are backing producers and their
families from many of the world's poorest areas.
The stalls are usually held on the last Sunday of the month
at St. Boniface after the 10.00am service, and the first
Sunday of the month at St. Martins.
The Traidcraft stalls at St. Martin's Church follow
the 9.15am service, but you don't have to come to the
service! You are more than welcome to come to the church
after 10.30am, have a coffee and take a look at the stall.
There will be regular Traidcraft mornings at 8
Hiltingbury Road on the following date from 10.00am until
12noon. Do pop in and browse the fair trade goods.
The dates are: Monday 15th June (moved from Monday
22nd June) and Monday 20th July.

Music & Worship
by Hugh Benham
Out now, Music and Worship by Dr Hugh Benham, Organist at
St Boniface.
A 52 page booklet centring on the music and worship of
a suburban parish in Southern Hampshire. Church music (wherever
it falls on the scale that extends from formal/traditional
to happy-clappy) can easily become inward-looking and self-satisfied.
This book considers why we do what we do, about the meaning
of some of the words we sing and pray.
Price £4 Copies are available from
the Parish Office and at both churches on Sundays.
Proceeds will go to St Anne’s Hospital, Liuli.
